Remembrance Sunday

If you are not from the UK you are probably wondering why everyone is wearing a poppy. The poppy is used as a symbol to show respect and honour the lives of those lost in conflicts involving the British & commonwealth Armed forces. The day of remembrance is normally held on the 2nd Sunday in November which is the nearest to Armistice Day (the anniversary of the end of the hostilities in the first world war).
